Friendcast Episode #3

Well it is finally here!  After quite a few hours of battling with a laptop that is in love with the wonderful Blue screen of death, I have finally gotten the show posted.  For those of you that care it seems my laptop drive went bad, why?  wonderful question.  In any event I actually JUST ordered a replacement with overnight shipping so I can get up and running on a stable system again.  Enough of my random brain dump in the form of text- onto the show!

Show Notes:

Another week another show, just some friends getting together to talk about games.  This week we have our favorite boy who is tall on the show to help us learn the ways of the Wii.  We show off our n00b skills with some akward transitions (at times) and finally I show off my n00b editing skills by leaving a bit of a hum on tallboys voice (no clue how to get rid of that).  I swear ymiris is smacking two sticks towards the end of the show to make me go crazy trying to figure out where the noise is coming from

  • Tallboy comes out to play this week
  • Ymiris tries to surf with driftwood….
  • Penny Arcade FTW?
  • Ymiris brings back the potty mouth (and it is spreading…)
  • Tallboy brings on the brawl – and tells us how to get fit.
  • exclusive titles – who cares? who doesn’t?
  • a bit of a random discussion about console versus pc gaming
  • thoughts on Grid Demo
  • thoughts on Dragon Ball Z Burst Limit Demo
  • where is the ninja gaiden demo?

It’s Tuesday, Where iz da Friendcast?

I know, I know, right after saying we were going to have a release every monday and here it is tuesday and no show!  I have a list of excuses long enough to wall paper a small room in my house, but I won’t bore you with them all.  The biggest issue is that I am having hard drive issues with my laptop making things a bit complicated to work with – so far its not to a point where everything is on fire and exploding or anything – but it did take some time to troubleshoot what was going wrong with the thing.  Add the fact that it was a holiday weekend, and I had a little get together on monday where I was running 2 grills almost all day – and I hit a bit of a time crunch.

The recording is safe (and backed up to a secondary machine just in case) and MOST of the edit is done – so look for the show tonight, or tomorrow at the very latest….

FriendCast Episode #2

Another episode of the friendcast coming at you on this wonderful Monday morning. Squidpunch & Ymiris brought an old friend of the site onto the show with them. We recorded the show Thursday night (5/15/08).

Show Notes

  • Antediluvia Joins the Friend Club
  • Ymiris’ wife drives like a driver instructor in GTA IV
  • Assault Heroes 2 Deja Vue (though after replaying the levels have similar aspects but not as identical as my mind originally thought)
  • We love Pinatas
  • Bayonetta – a better version of bullet witch?
  • Ninja Gaiden II anticipating rising
  • Too much Wii Speak!

PS Antediluvia Loves Halo.

Assault Heroes 2 Storming Xbox Live Arcade

ASSAULT HEROES 2 STORMS XBOX LIVE ARCADE

Highly Anticipated Sequel to Award-Winning Arcade Shooter Now Available
Los Angeles – May 14, 2008 – Wa wa wa wa wa – the kamikazes are attacking again! Sierra Online, a division of Vivendi Games, has released Assault Heroes™ 2 for Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. The highly anticipated sequel to the award-winning Assault Heroes game comes re-loaded with even more high-intensity battles, vicious enemies and brand new environments, including outer space. In the first sequel to a title that originated on Xbox LIVE Arcade, players can also hi-jack enemy vehicles, fight through more levels, spend more time on-foot and join up with friends with enhanced co-operative gameplay modes.

“Assault Heroes 2 has a lot to live up to and gamers won’t be disappointed because this sequel takes the arcade shooter to a whole new level,” said Nicole Perez, vice president of marketing, Sierra Online. “Wanako has created a game that goes above and beyond the high standards set by the hugely successful, original title.”

Sinister forces are again threatening mankind and the Assault Heroes are called back in action to save the day in the Assault Heroes 2 game.  New and upgraded weapons add greater firepower as players take out waves of fierce enemies and unimaginable mechanical bosses for many hours of destruction. Extended on-foot skirmishes with a more powerful arsenal of weapons allow for up close battles in expansive underground areas.  New vehicles including a rapid-fire spacecraft and hi-jackable enemy units increase mobility and protection in treacherous situations.

Developed by Wanako Studios, the Assault Heroes 2 game rated T and is available on Xbox LIVE Marketplace for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system for 800 Microsoft Points.  For more information, please visit www.assaultheroes2.com

Gamer Blog Changes

First and foremost – Registration is back online – meaning if you want a 3FS Blog, you can have it right away. The blog creation has been changed to a bit more of a manual process so there will be a (slight) delay in actually getting a blog, but this is to help prevent spam and useless server processing to generate spam blogs!

Also you might have noticed a new gadget on the right bar here on the main blog – this will show the most active gamer blogs on the site – so get blogging boys and girls!

Lost Cities Review Posted (Finally)

Are you a social gamer? You know one of those people that even though Grand Theft Auto IV is out and taking Live by storm you are sitting on your couch playing Uno and Catan with your friends? Well then you might want to check out the latest addicting social game that was recently released on the Xbox Live Arcade. I personally even missed the news of the game before it was released, and then later posted a tip video that got dropped in my inbox, which helped me pick up the game quicker, but I still haven’t perfected a fool proof strategy to really start racking up those wins. After you are done thugging it up on GTA IV, why not give my review a read, and Lost Cities a try.
